We are all on a journey through life, but we do not travel alone; God is with us every step of the way. The pastoral role of the Church is to provide company on that journey, through the good times and the bad. The parish structure of the Church of England means that the Church is there for everyone, not just believers. Everyone lives in a parish and therefore has a parish priest to whom they can turn, as well as others who can provide prayer and practical support.
